Welcome to the Alexander Technique with Vicky Walsh!
I am an Alexander Technique teacher working in and around London. I teach private lessons at my studio in Highbury and travel to give lessons on-site at businesses, clubs and schools. As a qualified riding instructor (BHSAI) and a classically trained rider I specialise in Alexander work with horse riders, visiting stables around the South East to give talks, workshops and private lessons. I also teach Alexander Technique to the students at the Royal Academy of Music and to both amateur and professional musicians at my private practice. I hope this website will give you an idea of what I do and what services I can offer you, but if you have any questions please do get in touch with me.
What is Alexander Technique?....The Alexander Technique is a method of training ourselves to move in a more balanced, less tense manner. While some techniques require you to learn specific exercises, Alexander Technique focuses on your everyday activities such as sitting at a desk, walking, sport and exercise, playing an instrument or anything else that challenges you physically or mentally on a daily basis. The unique thing about Alexander Technique is that it can be applied to any life activity: the only requirement is that the activity is done without excess tension and in a balanced manner. Thus, lessons are tailored to the individual and their concerns.
